I know that what I do is write. I have often called myself a writer, said that writing is what I do for a living. But that was just what I said. Today, a friend of mine who designs games for cellphones, pitched an idea for a game he wanted to design. Essentially it was a “choose-your-own-adventure” themed dating game, with the game continuing even if you weren’t actively playing. So you could be fixing dinner and you’d get a text from your “online boyfriend/girlfriend”. It’s an interesting idea at the very least. Anyway, he asks me “do you think you could write romantic fiction?”….I visually laughed (haha)…I responded “You need someone to write the female parts?”, since he and his fellow designer are both dudes…response “We need a writer”.
So weird to hear it from someone else other than myself. Strange that something that’s been a hobby for over half my life is now what defines me.
I am a writer.
