Another week without posting. It still amazes me that I went from writing nearly everyday to just every once in awhile. Again I’ll have to provide a snapshot as my life has a lack of interesting, insightful depth at the moment ;o)
Work has been great, really productive. I never thought I’d be building contacts anywhere, let alone the nonprofit scene. I haven’t gotten anything published yet, which is fine. At least I have solid examples I’m proud of. It’s a really great feeling to be proud of your writing for once, instead of overly critical. I started my internship with the Convention and Visitors Bureau on Friday. At this point, all I know is that I’ll be trying to input press clippings on an ancient computer. More to come later.
This past weekend was interesting. Thursday marked our big dust storm of the summer, which apparently I was allergic to. I had to leave my evening class early because I couldn’t stop myself from sneezing every 2 minutes. The sinus infection proved difficult as this was my busy weekend and I was exhausted and talking through my nose the whole time. I thought moving to AZ would get me away from crazy weather and yet this month has brought a major monsoon with winds topping 75 mph and a dust storm over 10 miles wide. Geez.
Next week marks my monthly travel. I’m really excited for this trip to Chicago. Thursday I get to see Jo ann!!!!! I haven’t seen her in 2+ years!! Then Mal’s and Chris’ bachelorette/bachelor party. Friday marks my mom’s 50th bday. Saturday is the wedding. Sunday I get to see Sheesh!! and then Monday is back home
