The Story is in the Details

Now that I’ve gone private, I can go public with some of the details of my life. Many of you may already know them, some of you may not. Either way, it’s useful.

Let’s see. To begin with I can mention all the companies that I’ve been interning/interviewing for now that they can no longer stalk me. Yes, that’s right. Remember the PHX art museum job I was applying for? They have a media crawler that finds instances of their name on the web. My interviewers found my blog and then proceeded to read ALL the entires…not just the two that had their name in it. So glad I was considered “overqualified” for that gig. I did however have two successful interviews. One I’ve already mentioned was the Border Trade Alliance. That internship is very low key and flexible. I mostly do research for their border wait times initiative, though I get included in all the emails about media releases, etc. I actually wrote part of a blog entry that went up. Only parts of it are mine, as in maybe 6 sentences, but hey.

My other internship is with Cause and Effect PR, or more their nonprofit wing, Brighten A Life actually. My first day on the job I wrote all their web content. Check it out here. That was pretty awesome :o )

Today I interview for Rose & Allyn PR firm, which has an office in AUSTIN!! Just thinking ahead to the future there :o ) Anyway, they would pay me and let me write stuff. Apparently they had 60 resumes submitted and mine was one of the 6 narrowed down to. Why may you ask? WEB DESIGN!! THANK YOU ASU!! Finally my master’s program pays off. I won’t hear about that one until next week.

In other news, I may have mentioned somewhere in a blog that I am seeing someone. Now that only you guys can read this I can tell you who. His name is Bob and he’s a friend of Chris’ that I’ve met a few times back in Chitown. He’s in the Air Force training to be a pilot and currently resides in Corpus Christi, TX. We’ve been talking since January and by that I mean NEVER on the phone. He’s the 2,100 text messaging culprit. I know, why always the long distance? Let’s just say I like to keep them at arm’s length these days. Easier for me.

School starts up in four weeks which between TAing, full class schedule and potentially two internships, will prove to be insane. Can’t wait.

Sounds like things are going well for you, although the bit about people reading your blogs pre-going private is making ME a little paranoid. Maybe I should do the same. But I’m lazy. :)

Sounds like things are going well in your life, though still a bit complicated. Leave it to you to be complicated. :)
