Though I have only minimal training in the realm of political science…this does not stop me from having rather passionate views about the current political campaigns. I visited a few friends this weekend in Florida and we got into a debate about the way Obama and Clinton are handling their respective presidential campaigns.
Let me first state, I would be completely willing to procreate with either David Axelrod, Obama’s Chief Media Strategist or Mark Penn, Clinton’s Chief Campaign Strategist. Since I may never head a major campaign, I’m hoping my children with either of these men would be bred to fulfill their mother’s selfish goals, in the way that some children are made to become doctor’s or baseball players.
Moving on…is anyone else shocked that Hillary bounced back from practically crying on TV? That’s incredibly damaging to any candidate, but even more so FOR A WOMAN! The major argument against having a female president has been the “weakness” or “emotion” issue. Then she actually does it and GETS AWAY WITH IT! I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. But that was a major strategic win for her campaign staff. Many believe that’s how she won New Hampshire.
And don’t even get me started on Obama…I loved the man before, but having the sexiest and most fascinating media strategist possibly ever…my infatuation has tripled. I mean with a name like Axelrod, how can you go wrong?
Now onto the current situation:
I can’t watch CNN anymore. I was never a big fan to begin with, but now with my mass communication classes, it’s even more sickening. I was watching something with Wolf Blitzer the other day about the economy. Some analyst said that the Democrats are trying to think too far into the future with solutions. He said we should only be worrying about this year. I get that but at the same time ISN’T THAT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY TO BEGIN WITH? We never think of long term solutions and then are stuck with the repricussions of today’s actions. UGH!
I love it when you talk dirty… I mean politics!
