Minor annoyances
Do you ever just have those days where lots of little things go wrong? It eventually makes you as frustrated as if you had experienced one major setback. Luckily, I’ve managed to see the humor in the situation.
Day 1: Monday
Joe and I arrived back in Vegas after 27 hours in the car. We decided to move Joe into his new house that day, instead of waiting since I was there to help him and it would prevent overlap moving with his roommates. We figured, hell, we’re already tired so let’s just go for it. This was after I was followed around by a worker at Einstein bagels waiting for my breakfast. Anyway, so we started moving in the middle of the day (remember, this is Las Vegas). Fortunately, we got our hands on a UHAUL truck. Unfortunately, I lost my Tiffany’s necklace in the midst of moving…one of two pieces of jewelry that mean anything to me. Alright…moved in. Fantastic. But it’s rather warm…why is that? Oh, the air conditioning in the house is blown. Haha, what else could go wrong? How about the air conditioning in my car crapping out as well? HELL WHY NOT!?!?
Day 2: Tuesday
Estimate on my car – $1,500 for a new compressor and timing belt + labor. It’s all going on the credit card anyway right? Number of calls to the landlord trying to get her to approve getting the air conditioning fixed = 5. Time she called? 25 minutes after the time the laborers could get the part. 95 degrees and Layla? I don’t think so! Spent the night back at Joe’s so Layla wouldn’t hyperventilate.
Day 3: Wednesday
The day of the flight has arrived! Florida wedding here I come! Oh wait…my original flight was delayed 5 hours, so I got bumped to a flight going to Philadelphia. That flight’s plane wasn’t working so they needed volunteers to give up seats. Why not? I really didn’t want to fly to Philly and then Tampa from there. So here I am, in Phoenix, 20 minutes from my house, waiting to head to Florida. After all this, so close to home! But hey, at least I got one free round trip ticket out it.
Despite all the minor challenges, I love spending time with Joe. He’s the best host of all time and so accommodating. Plus, he’s got the most hilarious friends. Just the type of group to get your mind off the icky things in life. Love you babe.

Ugh, sounds like fun.
At least you’re able to see the positive in it!
