I discovered explodingdog.com in my early college years. The artist draws his work based on words or phrases people email to him. This one is “I’m Building A World For You” (9/27/2002). It is far and away my favorite piece by artist Sam Brown. I was able to get a signed poster of this piece at Comic Con last year. Strange part is, I didn’t keep it for myself but instead gave it as a first wedding anniversary for my friends Dorie and Justin, since the first is supposed to be a gift of paper. You may not be able to see it, but I think it has an immense amount of romance in it. You can’t read the words from the picture but it says things like “I am still waiting for you” and “I believe in you”, etc. I don’t know why but it just makes me feel fuzzy =)
