Home, Home on the Range

The sign hanging from the railing of the second floor said it all…”WELCOME HOME KATIE & LAYLA! Congratulations on completing your first year!”

I AM HALFWAY THERE!!

Truthfully, the end of the school year was anti-climatic at best. I was anticipating some prodigious TFA moment, with a child percolating admiration and appreciation for my arduous work this past year. Definately did not occur. Instead, the termination of the school year left me lugubrious and disappointed. Oh well, I have a whole new group to look forward to next year.

In the mean time, I have arrived in Naperville! I began driving at 11:30am on Sunday and pushed through for 12 hours until I reached Oklahoma City. Layla is an excellent passenger and driving companion. We stayed at a Motel 6 for about 7 hours, then up and back to it at 7am. We did 13 hours on Monday with Missouri being the most trying part of the trip. I made the mistake of ordering a large coke from McDonalds that went through me like Evil Kanieval over a stack of cars. We had to stop every 45 minutes. But here I am…check lond driving trip solo off the list of life’s little activities.

Still jobless, but I’ve been poking around. If you hear anything, be sure to let me know.

VEGAS in 6 DAYS!!
