For those of you who haven’t been the victims of my ranting, I’m not entirely happy with my position at a company that shall remain nameless. I thought it would help further my career, but now I’m thinking it may hinder it. So, thanks to ASU granting me in-state residency for the summer, I am able to quit much sooner than I originally anticipated. All efforts are being made to find a PR/Marketing internship for the fall.
So now that my summer only consists of summer school a few days a week, I’m having flashbacks to how bored I was the first summer after teaching. I absolutely detest not being busy or useful. Which led me to another flashback.
February 2005 – I was working the information desk at my first Borders job (Michigan Ave) and was bored as usual. During my hour penance at the desk, I would write stories about the Borders folk, coreograph dances, anything to pass the time. One day, I came up with the idea for my own PR firm, called Co-Motion, as in commotion. I even came up with jobs for all my friends within my business.
Fast forward to today. Now, I’m not saying I can really start a business at this juncture. HOWEVER, there are two multimedia projects I’ve had in my head for 6 months that I would like to work on this summer. Therefore, I am creating my company this summer and schedule hours for myself to encourage the projects completion. I’ve even created a logo

If my company ever were to come into fruition, I have once again created jobs for almost everyone:
Writers – Joe, Amanda, Ashley B, Keridwen, Katie L.
Photographer/Video Editor – TCMCG
Graphic Designer – Justin
PR Consultants – Dorie, Martha, Ashley P., Kristy
Accounting – Brian
Web Manager/Engineer – Chris
New Media – Mike O.
Promotions – Angie
Business Manager – Kim, Carolyn
Health and Wellness – Kelly, Amy
And our first accounts? Martha’s Arbonne business, Mike’s chiropractic business, and Carolyn’s eventual motivational speaking seminars. Oh, and my doggy playground idea
