A quickie

I know I haven’t posted lately, so here is a very quickie post:

* School started Monday. So far, no big problems. The kids are so little though!

* My old kids all gave me big hugs. My brat even gave me a poster that says “Ms. Charland is the best teacher ever!”

* It’s amazing how that one year of experience can make you feel so mellow for the second year. All of sudden I have solutions to problems and am totally calm when dishing out discipline.

* Single apartment life is fantastic (except for the dishes) I love coming home to my own space and not having to worry about Layla leaving a mess.

*Layla is good. We walk every morning @ 5:15 and rollerblade @ 7pm (because that is when it finally drops below 100 degrees)

* Everyone here keeps talking about staying a 3rd year. I have been telling people early that I’m not so that I don’t feel guilted into staying by my own concious.

* Two professors have offered to write letters of recommendation for grad school. I had no idea they even remembered who I was!

* Bought a new mac on a payment plan. Now Dorie and Justin own both my prior laptops.
