A quick comment on Religion

My insight for this Tuesday night:

As I sit tired and alone, I ponder what God would have been like, had he been a middle school teacher.

First of all, he would have had excellent classroom managment. Two warnings and a magical portal would open up under your desk and send you straight to hell.

Second, he would never have any problem with providing his kids with the wrong information. God is infalliable and to prove Him wrong means the universe would undo itself (a lesson I learned from repeated viewings of the movie “DOGMA”).

Lastly, having to discuss His student’s recent test scores with his Principal would never be embarassing. God would never have to try and cover his butt. God could simply say, “My student’s ability is measured by their level of faith.” Principal: “Umm, okay, but the government needs hard data or we don’t receive any funding.” God: “You cannot present hard data that the wind exists, but yet you feel it upon your face. The faith my student’s have in their ability cannot be compressed into such meaningless human spreadsheets.” Principal: “Right.”

Disclaimer: None of the above statements are meant to demean God’s teaching abilities. They are written mainly to shine light on my sarcastic life as a teacher.
